ENDOMETRIOSIS

ENDOMETRIOSIS

Endometriosis is a condition where the lining of the uterus ends up in abnormal places like the ovaries, intestines, fallopian tubes, etc. It is an extremely painful condition and can cause infertility. For some women, research shows that endometriosis may be an autoimmune disease which results from a hormonal imbalance. Various herbs work extremely well at “balancing” female hormones and taking away the pain of endometriosis. A diet high in berries, cruciferous vegetables, omega-3 fatty acids and whole grains and low in animal products and saturated fat is also extremely beneficial. It’s not uncommon that hormonal imbalances can result from a disturbance in the liver and/or large intestine. Estrogen produced in the body undergoes processing in the liver and intestines. Sometimes the liver turns the estrogen into forms that can stimulate the growth of endometriosis and sometimes due to imbalances in gut bacteria, excreted estrogen gets reabsorbed into the system creating a condition called estrogen dominance.

Testimonial

"I originally came to see Dr. Braga for chronic pelvic pain as well as help with boosting my immune system. Dr. Braga is very knowledgeable and caring. I appreciate her approach to healthcare which includes teaching the patient about the workings of the body and the control one has in its care, through diet, supplements, and exercise. This instills a great sense of hope. Under Dr. Braga's care I experienced a significant reduction in pain and now maintain an overall stronger physical well-being. I recommend Dr. Braga highly."
