Dr. James Belanger
Dr. James Belanger is a licensed naturopathic doctor. He earned his doctorate degree in naturopathic medicine in 1998 at Bastyr University in Seattle, WA and his bachelors degree in Medical Technology in 1994 at UMASS-Lowell. He was valedictorian of the College of Health Professions at UMASS-Lowell. He is board certified and licensed in Connecticut and is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the Massachusetts Society of Naturopathic Doctors and the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians. He was the former secretary of the Massachusetts Society of Naturopathic Doctors and the former treasurer of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
In addition to his private practice, he taught nutrition at the New England School of Acupuncture and numerous classes at the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Belanger completed a two-year residency at the Chelmsford Clinic in Massachusetts and has worked in the healthcare field as a nurses aide, EMT, medical technologist and naturopathic doctor for a combined length of 35 years. In 1990, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer and is now cancer free after utilizing a combination of conventional and natural medicines. Dr. Belanger always wanted to be a doctor from an early age and was intrigued by all kinds of medicines. After becoming a cancer patient, he saw firsthand the narrow approach of conventional medicine and wanted to attend a medical school which taught a variety of medical disciplines including Western medicine. Towards the end of undergraduate school, he met his wife Dr. Karen Braga who introduced him to the field of naturopathic medicine which fulfilled his vision and desire to learn about a variety of medical sciences including nutritional medicine, Oriental medicine, herbal medicines and allopathic medicine.

Dr. Karen Braga
Dr. Karen Braga is a licensed naturopathic doctor. She earned her doctorate degree in naturopathic medicine in 1999 and her Bachelor of Science in Natural Health Science at Bastyr University in Seattle, WA. She is board-certified and licensed in Connecticut and was the former Vice President of the Massachusetts Society of Naturopathic Doctors. Dr. Braga completed additional training at the 45th Street Women's Health Care Clinic and other women's health and pediatric care clinics. She also worked with a breast surgical specialist at the Providence Comprehensive Breast Medical Center in Seattle.
At the Bastyr Natural Health Clinic, she did speciality work in Homeopathy and worked at the Counseling and Wellness Center for a year. Over the course of her studies at Bastyr, she worked as a research assistant in the Botanical Medicine department. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Braga taught nutrition at the New England School of Acupuncture. Dr. Braga believes in tailoring natural therapeutics to the needs of the individual honoring each person's mental, emotional and physical body.
